Jerrytt update: 34 weeks

This morning Matt and I went to both doctors. There really was not anything special about this other than Matt went with me. We got to see Jerrytt just hanging out. We could not see his face as he is "locked and loaded". He weighed 6lbs and the tech said he had more hair than she had seen in a long time. My question to that was "Is it red"? I guess we will just have to wait and see. Everything is progressing as it should and unless I go into labor he will be delivered via scheduled c-section at noon on May 11th.

Matt is pretty reserved about pregnancy. He was that way with Elliott too. He is a wonderful dad and loves his sons more than life itself. Just once I'd like to see him be "outwardly excited" during the pregnancy. He is so reserved it is hard to read his thoughts.

A special shout out to Poppy Peacock for watching Elliott while we were at the doctor. Elliott would have been at school but last night he had a tempature. I think he knew if he had a temp he could hang with Pops. I know he did not feel good but Poppy made him feel a little bit better.

Double Date Night

Well here is the profile picture everyone has been asking about...Last Night we went to Flame with Hialry and Kevin. I can't remeber the last time Matt and I went out to dinner let alone with Hilary and Kevin without the boys.

A big shout out to Grammy and Poppy for watch the boys while we enjoyed a night out.

Our 5 Course Meal:
Appetizer: A crab cake, calamari and a portobello...3 dipping sauces-YUMMY!
Soup & Salad: American French Onion soup & Ceasar Salad...Delectable!
Entree: 6 oz Steak- Medium...you can only imagine.
Dessert: Funnel Cake Tree with Strawberries and 3 dipping sauces...:)

Spending time with Hilary and Kevin...Priceless!

We are blessed with alot of things. That we live so close to our family and on a nice spring evening can enjoy such a marvelous meal and company is truly a blessing we do not take for granted.

This is a picture of Zachary and Elliott trying out the "3 Man Bob Scooter" (term coined by Elliott) as I registered at Babies R Us. Jerrytt is in the background. Yep, that giant bump is my son, Jerrytt. We can't wait to meet him. I am anxious for E & Z to meet him. I know Jerrytt will LOVE them!!!

I stole this from my friend, Ashley's Blog. She is due with a baby girl, Sienna, April 23.

How far along? Do we really know the answer to this? I am due May 18. I am scheduled for a c-section May 11. However, his measured estimated due date is May 2. I think we'll just wait and see.

Total weight gain/loss: 13 lbs total

Maternity clothes? Yes. Jerrytt is a big boy and sticks way out in front.

Stretch marks? Unfortunately, yes.

Sleep: Most nights I sleep pretty well for 4-6 hours. I feel rested. Matt would probably disagree with this.

Movement: Jerrytt has his movement moments. He is pretty calm. However when he is moving I think he is moving to another state.

Food cravings: I have gestational diabetes and I am eating according to the diabetic diet. I just want to be able to eat something bad for me. I drive by Andy's daily. I have only given in once...and I made Matt do it.

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? Still in. It really does not exist. Thank you Abbey for acknowledging this.

What I miss: being able to tie my shoes.

What I am looking forward to: being able to take care of my patients without calling out for lift help. My co-workers have all be wonderful to help but, it is getting very old.

Alot of things have been happening around here but I have not had time to post. As my dad always says "Life is what happens when you are making plans."

On the morning of Elliott's 4th birthday we met for Breakfast with Vlad at Bass Pro. Vlad is the eagle from Dr.Seuss and Elliott believes he lives at Bass Pro. Vlad has been hiding for awhile due to some rennovations. However on a recent stop I noticed he was out again. Thank you BPS for bringing him back. So Elliott thinks he returned solely for his birthday. What a wonderful surprise!

After breakfast, we headed to Jump Mania to celebrate Elliott's birthday buddy, Samuel's Birthday. Sam was 6! Sam's mom, Becka and I have been friends since 5th grade. I love that our boys are such good friends. Elliott looks up to Sam alot!!!

Elliott's birthday suprise was his new room and bed. Matt has worked really hard on painting the room, cleaning the carpet and preparing to make the office E's bedroom. Elliott LOVES his big boy room. He can't wait til we get started on Jerrytt's!

Speaking of Jerrytt...he is growing along nicely. We have a c-section scheduled for May 11, 2010 at noon. I am not sure he'll stay in there that long but for now, that date will do. We have made the down payment on the furniture and picked out the bedding. See pictures below.

One of the biggest accomplishments is Elliott has stopped sucking his thumb! Oh dear, how he loved his thumb! Aunt Howie and Uncle Kevin promised E a special adventure if he would stop. After a few weeks with an invention called a thumb guard E got his adventure. He has the best Aunt,Uncle & Cousin Z EVER! Click Here to see Aunt Howie's Blog about their Adventure!

In our spare time, Matthew and I both have been taking two classes. Matthew should be done by the end of March with his two and I should be done right around the arrival of Jerrytt.

Well, that is about it for The Young's...hopefully I will be able to keep you all better caught up on our adventures.

Elliott's 4th Birthday

Saturday, Janaury 16th we celebrated Elliott's 4th birthday with a Glow in the Dark, Bowling, Buzz Lightyear Party. Elliott had a BLAST!

Elliott was surrounded by 3 of his greatest friends: His best friend and cousin, Zachary; his birthday buddy, Sam; and his recently returned from Kentucky friend, Gabe. He also enjoyed Aunt Howie, Uncle Kevin, Grammy, Grandma Karen, Papa Marvin, Sam's parents: Becka and Scott, and Gabe's parents: Brad and Theresa. Poppy was working so we delivered a piece of cake to Walgreen's following the party.

Elliott would like to give a shout out to his buddies, Chase and Blake who were unable to attend because they were sick. Elliott wants to have a special play date with you to celebrate your friendship.

Elliott wanted a pink Buzz Lightyear cake. After numerous questions about a "pink" cake, I learned he want a strawberry cake. He made an excellent choice. It was delicious. Aunt Howie helped us with our cake by providing the contact of Stacy's Sweets. http://staceys-sweets.yolasite.com

Her cake and cookies were amazing. She was fairly priced. The only thing I suggest is double check she has the child's name spelled correctly. Our ELLIOTT is spelled with two TT's on the end. I was almost home before I, actually Elliott noticed it was missing a T. He was a good sport and it did not bother him at all.

Elliott and his friends were extremely well behaved. They all enjoyed bowling and the adults enjoyed the calamities of 4 little boys bowling. Needless to say, a good time was had by all.

Run Pee

I hope to get more than one post done over the next week to get you caught up but I just had to share this new discovery with you. Runpee.com. For anyone with a small bladder or any pregnant mommy-to-be the movies are always a dilemma. When to pee or not to pee is the question... I came across runpee.com, they also have apps for your iphone or blackberry. It will tell you exactly when and how long you have to make that desperately needed run to the potty so you don't miss an important part. Who knew?

Lub, Dub, Lub, Dub

Yesterday my mom went to the doctor with me. She heard her 3rd grandchild's heartbeart for the first time. Her heart skipped a beat. The baby is growing and doing well with a 155 heartrate.

December 18th at 7:30am we will have our ultrasound to discover if this baby is Cecilia Bloom Young or Jerrytt Bales Young. We really don't care...a healthy baby has been our prayer all along.

Sorry it has been so long since I did an update. Our life has been a bit turned upside down but we are beginning to work out the kinks and get into a routine. I will try to highlight some of the most improtant things over the past few months to get you updated...

CA$H FOR CLUNKER$!!!

Willard School district provided a work van for Matt to travel from school to school beginning this fall. Cash for Clunkers came at the right time for us. The van served it's purpose very well. We are the proud owners of a beautiful yellow (Elliott picked it out) 2009 Chevy Aveo. It is very economic and gets Matt to his work van and home everyday.

The BOYS

Elliott and Zachary are growing up. They are definitely little boys. They are funny and adore each other. They are truly best friends. Here is a recent picture of them at Trunk or Treat at my parents church. They LOVE their costumes.

Everything about Rachel has changed...

New Job, Back in School, you name it...it has changed.

I am a Patient Care Associate at St.John's Hospital on Surgical Heart and Lung. I love my job!!! I work 3, 12 hour shifts a week 3am-3pm. I am currently taking classes at OTC to complete my pre-reqs for Nursing School.

Probably the biggest change is currently occuring as we are expecting a baby in May 18, 2010. We should know in December what the next Baby Young is to be. Here are the current predictions and/or wishes.

Matt, Elliott, Aunt Hilary, Grammy: BOY
Rachel, Zachary: GIRL
Grandma Cathy, Papa Geno, Aunt Amanda: It Better be a Girl!

Zachary believes it is a girl and we should name her Bass Pro.
Elliott would like a boy named Hudson Joseph. He came up with this on his own!

The other exciting news is Matt's Best friend Trever and His wife, Sarah are also due May 18,2010.
As you can see, they are awaiting the arrival of twins! We are so excited!!!

My very dearest friend, Emily and her husband Dustin also annouced they are due June 1, 2010. Their son Cord will be a wonderful Big Brother!

I know, right! 4 Babies within weeks...Unbelievable!!!

Today is The Day!!!

My cousin, Jennifer, and her husband, Jack, pictured here on there wedding day a few years ago and finding out if they are having a baby boy or a girl today. It is days like this we do not like the distance between Missouri and Pennslyvania. We are there in spirit. We know they will be great parents and a happy and healthy baby is what we are praying for. We are sooo excited for The Little Horgan Family!

Just an update, They are going to be the proud parents of a Baby Boy! Everyone is thrilled especially my Uncle Vern (mom's brother). He loves his 3 daughters deeply but, he needed a grandson!

Well, as you can see I am horrible at keeping up with the blog so I am going to try to do better. No promises. I am just going to try to do better. We have had alot going on, not an excuse, just an actual reality we have to deal with. So here are some of the highlights of what cool things we have done.

Matt went fishing in Wisconsin with Our Brother-in-Law: Kevin, Kev's Dad: Marvin, Matt's Dad: Gene, My Dad: Jerry and some of Kevin's friends from Hillsboro. They had a wonderful time. Matt needed a relaxing time with the guys.

Elliott is growing and loves life. He enjoys just about everything. He is a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and his newest love of his hometeam "The Cardinals". His favorite player is "Albert Number 5".

Well, I hope to do a better job of keeping up with this blog than I am currently doing but, I do have hopes. Thank you for being a devoted follower.

Back to Life, Back to Reality

Well, it is life as usual. Elliott is off to school, Matt is back to work in Willard and it almost seems like we left reality for a week. We had a great time! But, it is back to the real world.

Day 5: Happy Papa Day

Our day started with a drive to Paia for Charley's for breakfast. It was awesome! I had Crab Cakes Benedict...to die for. They are known for their giant pancakes which was perfect for a candle to celebrate "Happy Papa Dave Day." We went to the North Shore to check out the surf and those braving the waves. Very cool. We returned to Wailea Beach for a dip in the pool and a trip to the beach. When we returned to the beach house Papa opened his birthday present...A Kindle. He loved it! marisa and Elliott especially liked the bubble wrap. It was a great gift. He has already enjoyed it out on the lanai. Then we went to Cafe O'lei, one of PaPa's favorite lunch spots for some delicious Mahi Mahi. It was awesome! Then for a special treat for the kiddos...Hawaiian Shave Ice.

Well, this will probably be my last post until we return home. This has been an amazing, much needed relaxing journey. Please pray for a safe trip home and much aloha until then.

We just hung out today...relaxed! We went to Kahili Golf Course for a delicious lunch: triple fish plate with angel hair pasta and fresh vegetables. YUMMY! Then we came back to the beach house to head to the ...BEACH. Marisa and Elliott love the water. They also love to play in the sand. Matthew is the engineer behind the amazing walls and castles. We hope you are all enjoying our pictures...we are definitely enjoying making every moment.

Aquarium Day...Yeah!

Today we have played in water all day. Matt and I went for an early morning snokel. It as usual was amazing. We came back to the condo picked up everyone else and headed back to the beach. WOW! These kids love it. Elliott is offically a boogie boarding expert. For lunch we went next door for a fabulous lunch and then headed back to the pool. Marisa loves the water and is truly a water baby. They are officially napping and then we are going to dinner. Keep checking back for more updates about our trip to paradise.

Day One in Paradise

So we made it to paradise yesterday at 3:23pm Maui time. The kids were awesome on the plane. People were even complimenting their behavior they were so outstanding. Matt and I agree...they were exceptional! Once we were greeted by Papa Dave and Nana with our beautiful tradional Hawaiian Leis, got our luggage, picked up our beach buggy...AKA PT Cruiser, we were headed to Wailea Beach. AWESOME! We had a delicious dinner provided by McDonald's. The kids went to bed and were awake at 3:27 a.m., that would be 8:27 a.m. in Missouri. The Easter Bunny did however manage to find Marisa & Elliott here in Maui and brought them so many wonderful books, swim gear, and candy. Nana fixed us a wonderful breakfast of Waffles and Eggs then it was time head to the beach. They loved it!!! We've got 2 fish on our hands. I am pretty sure Papa Dave and Matt were exhausted after our two hours of fun at the beach. Sorry I do not have any pictures at the beach...they are on Papa's camera. I am sure to get some tomorrow. Well it is 2:30 a.m. in Missouri and I better get some sleep before the kids wake up on Missouri time again. Much Aloha!

It seems impossible that our baby is 3 today! Here are just a few pictures of his first 3 years. He is a blessing to so many people and a wonderful friend. Some of his favorite things are:

Food: Mac and Cheese, Grilled Cheese and Almond Milk (Thanks Dr. Julie!)

Books: He like all books especially Dr.Seuss and LOVES puzzles too. His favorite is a 300 piece High School Musical Puzzle.That is not a typo it is 300 pieces.

Movies: The Polar Express, Horton Hears A who, Beauty and The Beast, High School Musical this list could go on and on...he is a movie buff.

His Favorite People: This list could go on forever...Elliott is a people person! Grandma Cathy and Papa Geno, Grammy and Poppy and Grandma Karen and Papa Marvin would definitely be the top. He adores Aunt Amanda. He love to climb Uncle Adam. His best friend is his cousin Zachary. His most specialest girlfriend is The Divine Miss Abbey D. However, above all his most deepest love and adoration has to be beyond a shadow of a doubt...Aunt Howie!

His Song: Everything by Michael Buble. Elliott truly believes this is his song and was written especially for him.

Elliott has always been a good eater and a very good sleeper. He LOVES Life and can't wait for what new adventures lie ahead.

To celebrate year 3 we are heading to Kansas City to see Sesame Street Live! Happy Birthday Elliott. Daddy and Mommy are so proud of you and love the little guy you are becoming. We hope you have a wonderful birthday.

I just mailed my cards today so I apologize they have not reached you. I am packing up the car in hopes of leaving in 2 hours to head to my in-laws for our annual Christmas with The Young's. Christmas Eve will be spend with our Lemon's Family in Lockwood and Christmas Day evening will be with Rachel's parents.

Unexpected Gifts

Here is the link to Hilary and Kevin's blog. Hil did a great job capturing the boys and their unexpected gift they received today. We also received another unexpected gift from Matthew's best friend Trever and his wife, Sarah. The Logan's did not have to do that! They are under our tree for us to open as part of our Christmas Morning experience so you will have to wait and see what that is at a later date...maybe December 26th!

Casting Crowns Christmas Concert 2008

On Tuesday, December 2nd we got to enjoy the awesome Christmas Concert by Casting Crowns, Natalie Grant, Avalon, Denver and The Mile High Orchestra, Michael English and PurNRG...It was AWESOME! My parents had given us the tickets as a gift. It was great way to begin the Holiday Season. Thanks Grammy and Pops!

We got to share the evening with Hilary and Kevin too. We rarely get to just do things as the four of us anymore so it was an extra special treat.

1.Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? I love Peppermint Hot Chocolate! However, Christmas Eve would not be complete without Freddy and his Egg Nog.

2.Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? WRAPS THEM!!!Unless they are completely impossible to wrap.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? I have white on my main tree.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? I do not have any but, after Phillip's sermon last Sunday...I will get some!

5. When do you put your decorations up? Still working on that...must move a 1969 Ford Falcon out of the way to get to the attic.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? SO many to count...however probably Grandma Clardy's Clam Chowder.

7. Favorite holiday memory as a child: I have so many...talking to Santa on the CB Radio, asking for my teeth for Christmas and getting them, getting our cats, Cabbage Patch Kids...yep, true child of the 80's.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? The truth about Santa is he is alive and well...I believe!

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Yes, our Christmas PJs.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? Lots of ornaments and white lights. I hope to one day have a tree in every room. If that were to happen, I'd have a peacock tree...with blue and gree lights.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? It is pretty but a huge headache.

12. Can you ice skate? NO WAY!

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? This was actually a gift I give or at least organized and executed. The McCarty Christmas of 1995 was by far the best. Getting Barb out of the house, Decorating, Putting up Lights, etc. it was by far the best Christmas gift I have ever given. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

14. What is the most important thing about the Holidays for you? F-A-M-I-L-Y!

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Oh geez...Cookies: sugar, ones topped with kisses, mom's bars with holly icing on top, Joanne's Divinity...I know I forgot like 23 others.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? I have a few...Silent Night at Candle Light service at Lockwood UMC, Ruey and Freddy's on Christmas Eve, and last but definitely not least...STOCKINGS! I love them!

17. What tops your tree? A star...we bought it at Walgreen's in Davie, Florida when we lived there. We love it. It is very simple and it reminds us of our dear friends who became our dear family while we lived in Ft. Lauderdale. Love you Girls!

18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? Giving!!! as someone near and dear to me said just last Thursday... I am a giver, probably the most giving person they know. I LOVE GIVING! gift, talents, friendship, food, whatever!

19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? Go Tell It On The Mountain...girls got soul!

20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? Not really a fan...they are okay.

21. What do you want for Christmas? I will get it. Watching Elliott love everything about this season...if you want to see what it is all about you can borrow him for a drive to look at lights.

22. Do you attend an annual Christmas Party? Yep...good times.

23. Do you dress up on Christmas or wear PJs? On Christmas Day, it is pretty relaxed.

24. Do you own a santa hat? Yes...3 of them!

Dec 23-24 until about 5pm: Matt's family.
Dec 24 6pm-12am: Lockwood with Ruey, Freddy and all my Family.

Just a note to say Happy Birthday to Matthew. 30 years of life...Way to Go! He makes this world a better place daily. I don't know what I would do without him. Crazy Days in the Young Household

As of today, our life has slowed down...a little bit. Over the last few weeks it has been pure pandemonium.

For Rachel it has been: Bluesfest, High School Musical, unknown disease treated with double antibiotics, costume issues, running a box office, t-shirt orders, driving to Bolivar to get t-shirts, driving golf carts thru my neighborhood at 11:00pm, singing at two wedding on the same day etc,etc, etc...

For Matthew it has been: his day job of crazy computer insanities of the Willard School District, casting WHS's Beauty and The Beast, STAM in ST.Louis, retrieving basketball rims, being a great single parent etc.

Just typing it makes me exhausted, We are glad this is over and hope we get to enjoy Elliott together very soon.

1. I love to perform but have retired except for the occasional wedding or fill in at church. If I could do it professionally I would in a heartbeat.

3. I work alot. To those of you who know me that is not quirky or boring but it is the truth.

4. I dream...alot! About big stuff, little stuff...I am a dreamer!

5. If I had 3.5 million dollars I would buy this old gorgeous mansion by Chestnut and I-44 and make it my wedding house. I would love to be a wedding coordinator. My wedding house would be the palce to get ready, rehearse, party, and purchase everything for the big day...it would be amazing.

6. I only have white towels. While I was staying in many peoples houses as a Continental I stayed with this lady who only had white towels. At first, I thought it was odd so, I asked about it. She said there is alwaysa load of whites to be done and she was right. I always have towels and I always have a load of whites to be done.

This past weekend was super busy in the Young Household. As you can see Elliott was wiped out. We want to wish a Happy 5th Anniversary to Aunt Howie & Uncle Kevin! You can read more about there adventures by clicking here.
Six years ago on July 20th (time does fly)...I married the man of my dreams. On Sunday, our anniversary, we were treated to a delicious dinner at my favorite restaurant, Nonna's, by my in-laws. It was so relaxing and such a nice way to share our 6th Anniversary.

Matthew surprised me with 6 giant white calla lilies. He never does stuff like that so when he does it makes it that much more special. Callas are my favorite and he remembered that too! That was so sweet, Matthew!
And an added bonus to our crazy hectic weekend of fun...I got to see an old friend, Leah. She use to be our box office manager at SLT. She has since moved on to Charlotte North Carloina's Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. However, she is from Springfield so every now and then our paths cross and for that brief moment of time we catch up like old friends do. Great to see you, Miss Leah...September is a-coming!

One final note: We are leaving to head to Pennsylvania tomorrow for a week of fun with Grammy's family. Elliott can't wait to see Uncle Vern, Aunt Ann and everyone else. Please pray for safe travels. We are so looking forward to this trip...The Fair, The Food, The Family!

Preschool Has it Priviledges

Elliott started his new preschool yesterday. We received his schedule of events for the month and WOW! this kid is busy. Today was Ice Cream Man day as is every Tuesday. $1.00 will buy you an ice cream and in his own words..."A Mess!" Other days include Thursday Music Days, Wednesday Science Day and Water Day but every other Friday is a very special day and Elliott can't wait. We had to purchase gear for this very special Day...BIKE DAY!!! He selected the Lighting McQueen sparkling cherry version. He thinks he is one cool dude!

Elliott's Newest Adventure...Sleep Walking?

Elliott has been sleeping in his toodler bed since before he was two. He is very good about announcing when he wakes up and has yet to sleep walk...we hope that does not change.

This morning at 5:30am I heard him say something...his door wide open but, I could not find him anywhere until I looked down. Yep...that is Elliott asleep under our bed.

Artsfest2008

Every year on the first Saturday and Sunday in May is a weekend of Art in Springfield called ArtsFest. It is always such a fun weekend whether rain (which more often than not), extreme heat, or every now and again you get two day that are just right...2008 happened to be just right.

We happen to find a pony just the perfect size for Elliott...he was in heaven.

Best Buddies

This past weekend was spent enjoying good food at the 9th Annual Rock N Ribs Competition which is a Young family tradition. Matt's dad, Geno, competes every year AKA "Team Hogzilla." It is always a good time full of wonderful memories. This year was especially wonderful because Elliott got to spend some quality time with his friend, Sam, and Mommy got see her friend, Becka for a few moments. The boys truly enjoyed each others company as did the mommies!

No we are not trying to have another kid, we are trying to keep up with Aunt Hil. Here is our attempt to keep whomever up to date with what is going on with the Young's. We recentley received a new digital camera so soon we will be able to add some pictures to the site too.

For now, we will tell you we had a wonderful week. The highlight of our week is our sweet friend, Lupe, in Florida gave birth to her second child: Rachel. Mom and baby are both doing well as is her big brother, Raymond.
